Erondu Jnr Celebrates International Youth Day, Emphasizes Youth Inclusion in Governance | #NwokeukwuMascot

Umuahia, Abia State — Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service in the Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), extended heartfelt greetings to Nigerian youths in observance of International Youth Day 2024.





In a statement released today by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, Erondu Jnr, who represents the Obingwa-West State constituency in the ABHA, commended the vital role of youth in sustaining democracy not only in Nigeria but across Africa and the globe.




Reflecting on this year's theme, "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways For Sustainable Development," Erondu Jnr lauded its relevance, emphasizing the necessity for integrating youth into governance at all levels. He highlighted how the digital revolution is transforming our world, creating unprecedented opportunities for driving sustainable development.





Erondu Jnr, a former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, encouraged young Nigerians to harness digital tools positively, shunning criminal activities and focusing on enhancing their digital skills. He called on the youth to take proactive roles in societal development, fostering a better future for all.




"The energy and innovation of our youth are crucial to progress," Erondu Jnr remarked. "As legislators, we are committed to creating platforms that elevate youth voices, address their concerns, and advocate for supportive policies and programs."





The legislator also urged all levels of government and key stakeholders to empower young people, recognizing their pivotal role in driving digital adoption and innovation.





Erondu Jnr concluded his message by wishing Nigerian youths and their global counterparts a joyful and impactful celebration of Youth Day.





International Youth Day is celebrated annually on August 12th, honoring the dynamic contributions and creativity of young people worldwide.
