Onwusibe Accuses Senator Akobundu of Stealing Senate Mandate Through Court | #NwokeukwuMascot

The Member Representing Isiala Ngwa North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe, has accused Senator Augustine Akobundu, who represents Abia Central Senatorial District, of illegally obtaining his Senate mandate through the court at the expense of Hon. Darlington Nwokocha.






Onwusibe, who recently faced criticism for distributing cassava stems and yam tubers to his constituents as empowerment, made this accusation during the Abia Central Labour Party tour in Ikwuano Local Government Area.










“A thief came and stole our Senate position,” Onwusibe stated. “That’s why your brother, who stole our senatorial position, has not been seen anywhere. He is yet to do a project, and even the PDP is looking for him.”









He continued, “We can never recognize him as our senator. The days are gone when someone can lose an election in their area, be rejected by their people, and then use the judiciary to impose themselves on the electorate. We are saying no to that.”








It is worth recalling that in November 2023, the Court of Appeal ruled in favor of Senator Augustine Akobundu, dismissing Hon. Darlington Nwokocha and declaring Akobundu as the duly elected Senator representing Abia Central.
