The presiding officer for the unit announced that Okpebholo scored 102 votes to defeat Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) who had one vote each.
However, newsmen observed that the APC candidate won his polling unit with the votes of underage teenagers.
With the confirmation by both INEC officials and party agents at the polling units that accreditation and voting started by 8am as it was supposed to, INEC officials told SaharaReporters that voting was to stop at exactly 2:30pm, according to the INEC guidelines, but as at 3:20pm, voting was still going on.
It was observed at around 2:26pm, while only polling unit 003 still had five voters in the queue waiting to cast their votes, an argument suddenly erupted among the people of the area who spoke mostly in their local language. They mounted pressure on the INEC officials for an extension of voting time and to allow teenagers they brought to vote.
