Twenty-one years ago, on this day, Erondu Uchenna Erondu, then Chairman of Obingwa Local Government, stood proudly on the podium at the local government secretariat to commemorate Nigeria’s 43rd Independence Day celebration.
Escorted by the Divisional Police Officer (CSP), Erondu took the ceremonial salute, embodying the spirit of leadership and dedication to the local government.
Erondu's leadership extended beyond his role in public service. As the Director of Enyimba FC, he was at the helm when the pride of Aba lifted the CAF Champions League trophy back-to-back, as well as the prestigious Champion of Champions Cup. His contributions also earned Enyimba the African Champion of Champions title, cementing his legacy in Nigerian football.
In addition to his achievements in sports, Erondu served as Special Adviser to the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD, where he continued to play a pivotal role in state governance.
Currently, Erondu serves as the Member representing Obingwa West State Constituency and holds the position of Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters, in the Abia State House of Assembly, where his commitment to public service and development continues.
