  News   File Image The Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has released guidelines for the upcoming Local Government elections, following the inauguration of the newly appointed Caretaker Committee, as announced by the party’s National Working Committee. The party had previously declared its intention to participate in the Local Government elections scheduled for November 2, 2024. In a press release signed by Jude Ndukwe, Media Adviser to the Abia PDP Caretaker Committee, and titled “Abia PDP Caretaker Committee Inaugurated, Decides on Forthcoming LGA Elections in the State,” the committee called on stakeholders to prepare for the primaries across Local Government Areas (LGAs) and wards in the state. The primaries, the statement noted, could be conducted either through direct primaries or by consensus.
