Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has appealed to Nigerians to support his campaign financially.

The Sahara Reporters publisher made the appeal on Thursday in a post on his verified Twitter page.

Sowore shared his account details and asked his supporters to donate towards the actualisation of his presidential ambition.
He simply wrote; ‘‘Support our campaign!”

Earlier this month, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC announced that political parties will be free to begin open campaigns from September 28, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Sowore Political Action Committee (SPAC) had also invited Nigerians to help sponsor him to office.

It set up a payment platform and announced that those interested in donating for Sowore can use the online payment solutions service.

SPAC, which described Sowore as a man of conscience and uncommon courage, said each member of the group is required to donate between N50, 000 and N1 million monthly.

It may be recalled that the AAC flagbrearer had also said Nigerians, most especially the youths, need to challenge those seeking political office ahead of 2023 general elections.

“This is the right time to challenge those in power and bring those with fresh blood, ideas and initiatives that can change the narratives for Nigeria. The time for the nation to work for Nigerians has also arrived.

“Other political parties are even going into extinction and we would help to consign them into the dustbin of history as soon as possible. For the people of Ondo State, and those who have not heard, I, Omoyele Sowore is going to be the next President of Nigeria,”  he said.
