World AIDS Day is commemorated globally to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and honour the lives of those affected by the epidemic. This year’s commemoration had the global theme ‘Let Communities Lead” and domesticated in Nigeria as ‘Communities’ Leadership to end AIDS by 2030′.   News     Abia Student Leaders   Student leaders from various tertiary institutions in Abia State find themselves stranded on the streets of Abuja due to the lack of support from the Abia State Government. This lack of assistance has hindered their ability to fully participate in the ongoing National Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) currently taking place in Abuja. In a conversation with our correspondent, the student leaders expressed their dire situation, stating that they are facing extreme hunger as they lack both food and transportation funds to attend the convention. Tragically, some student leaders who were unable to secure transportation funds were unable to attend the convention at all.   Politics      Abia State PDP members on a road rally during the last general elections.   The Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement signed by  Hon. Elder Abraham Amah, the party’s Vice Chairman/Acting State Publicity Secretary has accused Destiny Nwagwu, a sacked member of the Abia State House of Assembly, of attempting to incite the public against the federal government and judiciary. The allegations came after Nwagwu mobilized his supporters in Aba to protest the Appeal Court’s decision to replace him with the PDP candidate, Hon. Aaron Uzodike.
