Mazi Okwu Nnabuike. The National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike has raised the alarm over threat to his life days after he congratulated President-elect, Bola Tinubu. Okwu had a few days ago congratulated Tinubu, urging aggrieved parties to allow the court to decide the matter one way or the other. He said the election time was over, adding that the process of governance had begun. However, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, Okwu said he had come under severe threat after congratulating the President-elect. According to him, “some persons who are annoyed that I congratulated the President-elect have sent machinery in motion to take me out of the way. “They are employing every means, including using the DSS and other security agencies to make sure that I am cajoled and silenced. Buried for 50 years: Britain’s shameful role in the Biafran war | #NwokeukwuMascot

By Frederick Forsyth. A million children starved to death. I’m haunted by the images I saw there – and by the complicity of the Wilson government. It is a good thing to be proud of one’s country, and I am – most of the time. But it would be impossible to scan the centuries of Britain’s history without coming across a few incidents that evoke not pride but shame. Among those I would list are the creation by British officialdom in South Africa of the concentration camp, to persecute the families of Boers. Add to that the Amritsar massacre of 1919 and the Hola camps set up and run during the struggle against Mau Mau. The northern and western regions were swept by a pogrom in which thousands of Igbo were slaughtered But there is one truly disgusting policy practised by our officialdom during the lifetime of anyone over 50, and one word will suffice: Biafra. This referred to the civil war in Nigeria that ended 50 years ago this month. It stemmed from the decision of the people of the easter

Chelsea woes shouldn’t ruin my reputation says Lampard | #NwokeukwuMascot

Image
Frank Lampard Frank Lampard says Chelsea’s woeful run of five successive defeats since he took charged of the troubled club should not damage his managerial reputation. Chelsea suffered yet another embarrassing result in a woeful season as their west London neighbours Brentford won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Lampard has been unable to stop the rot since replacing the sacked Graham Potter, who was only hired in September following Thomas Tuchel’s shock dismissal. In his second spell as Chelsea boss after previously being sacked by former owner Roman Abramovich in 2021, Lampard is only in charge until the end of the season. Former Tottenham and Paris Saint Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly close to being hired as Chelsea’s next permanent manager. Lampard’s reputation had already been tarnished by his sacking at Everton in January, with the former England midfielder leaving Goodison Park with the team mired in a relegation battle. ALEX OTTI AND HIS NEEDLESS DRAMA | #NwokeukwuMascot

By   Barr Onyebuchi Ememanka. Onyebuchi Ememanka(Ururuaja). Quite frankly, I chose to concern myself with the business of tidying up our exit from government from my own little angle. I chose not to engage in any media show with the supporters of the incoming administration in Abia State. The reason is simply because it will serve no useful purpose. Elections are over and Alex Otti is the incoming Governor and by the 29th of May, God willing, he will take the oath of office and assume Executive Powers as Governor. Let me restate here that I wish Otti well and I want him to succeed. I do not want him to fail. If a leader fails, the State fails and we all will be affected.  However, certain actions of the man himself make it impossible not to chip in a word or two. Yesterday's show with Julius Berger is one of them. Let me say here that I will be personally delighted to see a construction company like Julius Berger do jobs in Abia. Their pedigree is top notch...so is their bill.  It
