The soldier in a video footage making the rounds on social media lamented how he spent one year in the bush in Borno and was given a pass to visit his family but he could not go because while his salary is N50,000, he was told at the motor park that transport fare to his town is N35,000 - to and fro is N70,000.   News    Mazi Nnamdi Kanu  The Federal High Court has fixed February 8, 2024, to continue the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. It can be recalled that the Supreme Court had transferred Kanu’s case back to the Federal High Court for continuation of trial. This was after the apex court upturned the Appeal Court ruling that discharged and acquitted Kanu of all terrorism charges. However, Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, disclosed the new date after his routine meeting with the IPOB leader at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja on Monday. Posting on X, Ejimakor wrote: “Update: Myself and Prince Emma Kanu have exited today’s visitation of Onyendu #MNK. The situation remains tough but Onyendu is tougher. “On the flip side, we’ve succeeded in persuading the Federal High Court to hear his case on February 8, 2024. So, the date is set. Yes!”

  News    File Image  Not fewer than four people were killed by gunmen on Monday even as they attacked Point of Sale (POS) operators in Imo State, South East Nigeria. The incident, Newsmen gathered, happened at Ohii junction located on the Owerri – Orlu Road. According to eyewitnesses, two of the victims were said to be policemen who were on duty in the area during the unfortunate attack. A video of the incident seen by newsmen on Monday evening showed the lifeless bodies of the victims.
