Abia PDP Commiserates with Family of party’s Former National Chairman, Prince Vincent Eze Ogbulafor, following his Demise.
On behalf of the entire members of the Abia PDP, the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere heartily commiserates with the family of our former National Chairman, Prince Vincent Eze Ogbulafor who passed away in far away Canada on Thursday October 6, 2022 at the age of 73.
Prince Vincent Eze Ogbulafor until his death was a member of the highly-regarded Abia PDP Council of Elders and was recently appointed as a member of the Abia PDP 2023 Election Advisory Council which was inaugurated yesterday by the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
A consummate politician of high repute, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, a scion of the royal family of Eze J. J. Ogbulafor family of Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State served Abia State and the PDP in different capacities. He was first Adviser to the Abia Governor on Economic Matters and later served as a Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in the government of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia State.
He contested for the Abia governorship under the United Nigeria Congress Party, UNCP and became a member of the All People’s Party, APP in 1999.
He served as Minister for Economic Matters and Special duties under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration between 1999-2001 and later became the National Secretary and subsequently the National Chairman of the PDP.
Prince Ogbulafor was a strong member of the PDP and was always in touch with the leadership of the Party at both the National and State levels where he offered invaluable advice to strengthen the fabrics that hold the Party and Nigeria together.
He will be greatly missed by the Abia PDP even as we pray to the Almighty God to receive his gentle soul in His bosom and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Adieu Prince Vincent Eze Ogbulafor!
