Confusion as Otti Cancels Market Leaders Appointment, Suspends Planned Inauguration, following Isialangwa LP Stakeholders Opinion | #NwokeukwuMascot

Dr Alex Otti’s led administration had yesterday released a statement containing the appointment of major market leaders in Abia state.

The press release signed by Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, special adviser to Abia state governor on Trade and Commerce further announced a planned inauguration to hold on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

However, reports has it that Isialangwa Labour Party stakeholders has frowned at Otti’s recent appointments alleging that he does not consult the party whose mandate he holds.

Following this development, another statement refuting the earlier announcement also signed by Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, captioned; “SUSPENSION OF INAUGURATION AND WITHDRAWAL OF LIST OF THE NEWLY-APPOINTED MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR MARKETS IN ABA AND UMUAHIA” was made public through Alex Otti’s chief press secretary, Mr Kazie Uko.

Statement reads in full: “This is to inform the general public and, particularly, the various market groups in Aba and Umuahia, that the planned inauguration of the newly appointed Management Committee Members for markets, scheduled for Thursday, June 22, 2023, is hereby suspended.

“Government also by this notice, withdraws the list of those earlier appointed into the Management Committees of the various markets.

“A new date for the inauguration will be announced in due course.” He added.
