The member-elect to represent Obingwa-West Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu, has urged his constituents and Abians to remain steadfast in their commitment to democracy.
Elder Erondu who disclosed this in his 2023 Democracy Day message from his media office, noted that Nigeria had come a long way in democratic practice and is developing her democratic experience day by day.
The former Aide to immediate past Abia Governor, enjoined his constituents, Abians and Nigerians at large to remain united in the face of daunting challenges facing the country and expressed hope that things would get better.
He said that Nigeria had learnt alot in the last 24 years of uninterrupted democracy and called for prayers to overcome the economic hardship and security challenges ravaging the country.
In his words: "Let us use our current challenges as determined people to drive the wheel of national progress.
"We are not where we want to be yet in our democratic march, but we are also not where we were when we started".
While congratulating his people on the journey so far, Erondu Jnr. further called for patriotism and the use of democratic mechanism available to pursue the Nigeria of their dreams.
He further thanked his constituents for the enormous confidence reposed in him through their votes and promised not to let them down but represent them effectively.
