Asari Dokubo | Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

Asari Dokubo, an ex Niger Delta Militant, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Dokubo made this request after his meeting with President Tinubu at Aso Rock on Friday.

It should be noted that Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, had called for Kanu's release during his discussion with President Bola Tinubu.

However, Dokubo believes that Kanu should face the legal consequences of his actions, arguing that releasing him would encourage a culture of impunity.

"During the EndSars protests, Nnamdi Kanu was allowed to roam freely. What did he do? He aggravated the situation during the EndSars movement. Now that he has been apprehended, what about the lives lost? He is a criminal who needs to be held accountable under the law," Dokubo stated during a press briefing.

He further expressed concerns that releasing Kanu would not only reward criminal behavior but also condone the brutal murders of innocent people. Dokubo firmly believes that Kanu should be held responsible for the actions and instigations he has been involved in.
