Otti Exempts Abia Civil Servants Employed In 2023 From June Salary Scheme | #NwokeukwuMascot

Abia state government through a circular signed by Sir Onyii Wamah, Abia state Head of Service, copied to most relevant public offices has noted that the state civil servants will be paid June salary with modalities used in December 2022.

According to the letter captioned: ‘Payment of June Salary, Wamah noted that this development was due to various anomalies identified in the submissions earlier made by the Various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). 

This action by Abia state Government has be alleged to be an indirect way of sacking those employed into the service in 2023 by the immediate past administration.

Recall Our earlier reports were we reported that the Otti led administration will be paying only June salary, while May and April counts as arrears.

The Abia head of service circular read in full: “I write to notify all Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Parastatals of Government that payment of June, 2023 salary shall be based on the salary modalities used in the payment of December, 2022 salary.

“This is as a result of various anomalies identified in the submissions earlier made by the Various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

“Accordingly, Directors of Administration and Directors of Finance are to submit to the Accountant-General's office their Nominal Rolls, Audit Clearances, as well as, their Salary Printouts for the month of December, 2022, not later than close of work on Monday, 26h June, 2023.

“Any MDA that fails to submit the aforementioned documents to the Accountant-General's office risks the chance of not receiving her June, 2023 salary payment.

All concerned are to ensure strict compliance.” The letter ended.
