The Supposed Effectiveness of Lies and Propaganda is Limited by Time —John Okiyi Kalu | #NwokeukwuMascot
|Dr Okezie Ikpeazu|
Moments ago, I listened to news broadcast from a private radio station in Abia and two items caught my attention:
1. NULGE demands for payment of May and June salaries from Governor Otti.
2. Abia Workers in MDAs have started receiving April 2023 salary with only May 2023 outstanding.
What does that confirm to you?
A. Dr Okezie Ikpeazu was not owing either of those two groups of workers “38 months arrears of salary” as you were made to believe in the recent past by propagandists.
B. The current administration is also rightly pursuing the Ikpeazu policy of insisting that revenue-generating state parastatals prudently use their subventions and internally generated revenue windows (school fees, hospital bills etc) to fund salary payment instead of paying them from state government coffers with MDAs.
Ikpeazu also launched biometric verification of workers and daily clock-in with thumbs but many workers resisted the innovation. Hopefully, they won’t resist the current administration because it is a good policy that will minimize the evil of ghost or absentee workers.
One day, people will see what I saw in Ikpeazu. He wasn’t perfect, nobody I know on earth is, but he acted deliberately without malice, bitterness or knee-jerk response to issues. His successor is free to adopt, modify and improve on his work. But the people must be told the truth, credits given where appropriate and improvements made therefrom.
In all, let’s give everything time and see what will stand the test of patience but the question I ask myself is “where were these workers and their unions when all those lies and propaganda were sold and bought?"
Karma should continue...
