Men of the Abia State Community Policing/Vigilante Okpulor Umuobo unit, Osisioma Ngwa Command have arrested 3 suspects who specialise in stealing armoured cable and looting shops in Aba today 15/08/2023.

A top Community Policing/vigilante official Mr Ernest Nwazu who led the operation stated that the suspects - Uchenna Ahiwe, Chinweike Nwamini and Kingsely Nwauzor were arrested in their hideout in Okpu Umuobo at about 3.00hrs after sufficient intelligence gathering.

He stated that one Mohammed was first arrested and after interrogation, he led the vigilante to the other 3 members of the gang who were arrested.

He added that further investigation revealed that Mohammed was a dealer who procured vandalised cables from the members of the gang.

The state Commandant, Abia State Community Policing/vigilante Dr Daniel Iheadindueme while handing over the suspects to the police authorities assured the public that his men are intensifying efforts to checkmate crime in the State.

He further decried the inability of the Abia State Government in empowering his men  who have been working assiduously hard in the discharge of their duties throughout the 17 Local Government Areas in the State with vehicles and Security gadgets required  to combat the escalating crime in the State.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been handed over to the RRS Aba North command for further investigations.
