Akwa Ibom Governor Orders Immediate Release of 1 billion Naira to Cushion Effects of Subsidy Removal on State Workers | #NwokeukwuMascot

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, today met with members of the Organized Labour who joined counterparts all over the country in a peaceful protest over the excruciating effects of fuel subsidy removal on workers.

Governor Eno, who empathizes with the plight of workers, took swift action with the following announcements:

Immediate release of One Billion Naira for the settlement of gratuities for retired Primary School Teachers.

Release of Eight Hundred Million Naira to clear the backlog of Leave Grants for Workers.

Leave Grant to be incorporated into monthly salaries for prompt payment.

Setting up a Committee for the disbursement of Federal and State Government palliatives within ten days to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.
