South East Governors Order Security Agencies To Deal Ruthlessly With Perpetrators, Sponsors Of Insecurity | #NwokeukwuMascot

The South-East Governors Forum after a meeting on Thursday ordered security agencies to deal ruthlessly with perpetrators of insecurity in the region and their sponsors.

The governors described them as criminals, saying they should not be seen as legitimate pro-Biafra agitators. 

Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who read the resolution of the forum after the meeting, commended security agencies for their cooperation so far and encouraged them not to relent.

During the meeting held in Enugu State Government House and attended by all the five governors, firmly resolved to fight insecurity decisively in the region both individually and collectively, in partnership with the Federal Government and other stakeholders.

"We wish to state categorically that the perpetrators of the insecurity in our region and their sponsors are criminals and should not be seen as legitimate agitators. Therefore, upon arrest, they should be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land. 

"The Forum resolved to hold the security and economic summit on a date to be announced soon," the governors said.

In attendance are the governors of Abia State, Alex Otti; Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Dr Peter Mbah of Enugu, and Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
