More facts have continued to emerge on how the former Public Relations Officer (PRO), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu defrauded the Chairman, Hotel Royal Damgrete Umuahia, Dr. Steve Ihedigbo using the university's name.

The woman whose insatiable appetite for money and material things, had gone to Dr. Steve Ihedigbo, demanding for certain amount of money as gratification to be used to lure the then, Vice-Chancellor, MOUAU, late Prof. Francis Otunta into business partnership with him.

A reliable source disclosed that Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu insisted that N500,000 should be given to her on behalf of the late Vice-Chancellor, Prof Francis Otunta and the University in order to be bringing MOUAU guests to the hotel whenever there is Governing Council meetings.

The source said, the N500,000 was given to her to speed up the business process as well as an additional sum of N50,000 for her own logistics.

The chairman Hotel Royal Damgrete Umuahia Abia State, Dr. Steve Ihedigbo had waited for some weeks and months for a corresponding action from MOUAU as he believed to have done his own part of the deal but to no avail.

On his (Dr. Steve) inquiry to know what was happening, she (Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu) urged him to remain patient, adding that the then Vice chancellor was new and would respond, alleging that he has received the money (gratification) for the deal.

After waiting for several weeks with no corresponding action in view, Dr. Steve Ihedigbo contacted the then Vice-Chancellor, Prof Otunta, who denied taking part in such a deal or business agreement.

Angered by the development, Dr. Steve Ihedigbo, dragged Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu, and MOUAU to Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for a refund of his money as he realized that he has been defrauded by the woman.

This, caused so much embarrassments to the university's image as the Legal department of the institution was always going to EFCC Enugu on the matter.

Several panels were set up to investigate her fraudulent activities on this and many more.

Instruction was given to bursary unit of MOUAU to deduct funds from her monthly salary (source) untill the defrauded fund is recovered.

Other decisions of the MOUAU Governing Council are as follows:

MOUAU Councils decisions on Disciplinary Cases of Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu according to MOUAU Bulletin (2018) reads thus: Council at its 73rd Statutory meeting held on Thursday, 30th November, 2017 approved the recommendations of the Council Committee and Staff Discipline (CCSD) that found her Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu culpable in allegations of receiving gratification, using the Vice-Chancellors name from the Chairman of Hotel Royal Damgrete, Dr. Steve Ihedigbo. Council therefore, approved that she should:

 Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu 

Be warned in writing, Be denied promotion for the next three (3) years, 

Not hold any sensitive responsibility for the next ten (10) years (documents attached).

Her deteriorating records and image has brought so much sorrows and pains to the university identity.

This, led to her removal as the University's PRO and she was kept where she would no longer have access to money and material things, as her veneration for the god of mammon is beyond human control.

Information further gathered revealed that Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu who served as the Chairperson, Planning Committee, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Week in November 2022, had embezzled a lot of funds donated by good spirited individuals to the Abia NIPR.

A source that pleaded anonymity stated that the former Deputy Governor of Abia state had supported the body with N200,000 and two bags of rice through the alleged criminal, but she declared, accounted and remitted only N100,000.

The Clerk, Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Mr. John Pedro Irokansi, among others, had also supported NIPR with N100,000 for entertainment after their football match with a sister body, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) but none of these was remitted to Abia NIPR nor accounted for.

This verifiable records have left so many questions in the lips of everybody as she continued to visit many unholy places to foist herself on Abia NIPR.

Members should tread with caution as Mrs. Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu has remained an unscrupulous misfit and social urchin with no good record in her place of work (MOUAU), hometown, and even among religious circle.
