  A Group known as ‘Imo Dimma Youths’ has slammed the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti over his gross financial carelessness that was recently uncovered on the Quarter three Budget Performance report, saying that Imo State under Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressive Congress (APC), is far better than what Abia State is currently facing in the hands of a Labour Party Governor.

Irked by the efforts made by the Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti of Labour Party to remove Senator Hope Uzodimma during the just concluded November, 11th governorship election on the premise that Labour Party was working in Abia, while APC has failed in Imo, the group mocked the Abia State Governor whose quarterly financial report showed gross financial carelessness, greed and wastefulness, adding that Governor Otti needs a lesson on prudential management of resources from Senator Hope Uzodimma.

According to a recent release by the group and made available to journalists by Comrade Ebere Ajoku, the group described the Abia State Governor as gluttonous, following authentic revelation that he consumed N233.3 million on food, N2.82 billion on security vote, N5.32 billion on servicing his office for only just three months, even as reports say he operates from his country home in the village and not the Government House.

In contrast with the Abia State Governor’s extravagant lifestyle, the youths noted with admiration that their Governor, Senator Uzodimma presented a Quarter three financial report showing a Governor who is concerned about the welfare of Imolites not about himself and family. They chided the Abia State Governor for taking a whopping N2.8 billion as security vote without security challenges like imo State, yet their Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma took a meagre N150 million.

The group, therefore, asked Dr. Alex Otti to come for tutorials at Imo Governor’s office to undertake a study on financial management and working for citizens instead of self.

Furthermore, the group stated that Imolites have observed how good governance works under the able leadership of Senator Hope Uzodimma where ecological funds have been deployed to recover the erosion ravaged Emekuku bridge at the ongoing recovery of Owerri-Mbaise-Obowo-Umuahia Road, the 12 metres Oguta Bridge, the multi-million ideato North LGA, Eluama-Urualla erosion control by Arab contractors, the Ikeduru LGA Okwu, Owu Amakohia, Amalla, Avuvu communities erosion control and so many others just to mention a few.

The group asked Dr. Alex Otti, the supposedly Labour Party good governance advocate to tell his people of Abia State what he has done with the about N170 million ecological funds he has received from APC Federal Government in the past months and why he has spent over 85% of Abia budget on overhead expenses with almost nothing for education and critical infrastructure.

They further noted with dismay that while he preached good governance, his conduct in office is at variance and has shown everything not good. They advised him to warn his fellow party man in Imo-State, Chief Athan Acholonu not to heat up imo polity but to accept the wish of Imolites by their choice of electing Senator Hope Uzodimma as their Governor for a second time.
