In a recent development surrounding the controversial video posted by MC Sweet, the Abia State Police Command has taken legal action against him. MC Sweet faced charges related to spreading false information and cybercrime as he falsely claimed that the Ngwa people demanded compensation from the Abia State Government as a precondition for the reconstruction of the PH Road in Aba.

During the arraignment at the Aba South Chief Magistrates Court on Friday, December 22, 2023, Chief Magistrate Erinna Enyeribe presided over the case. The Abia State Police Commissioner presented the charges against MC Sweet, highlighting that such offenses carry a potential sentence of up to two years imprisonment.

MC Sweet, when given the opportunity to address the court, expressed remorse for his actions and pledged to create a new video to issue a sincere apology to the Ngwa people for the derogatory content in his previous post.

The video posted by MC Sweet gained significant attention and spread rapidly throughout social media platforms. In the video, he wrongly alleged that the Ngwa people had demanded monetary compensation before the Abia State Government would proceed with the N30bn reconstruction of the PH Road in Aba.
