Aba Power Ltd, the power company in charge of supplying electricity to Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State in Southeast Nigeria, has declared that the city will experience a complete blackout on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

In a statement released to the media, Aba Power Ltd informed its customers that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be conducting essential repairs on its facilities, necessitating the power outage. The repairs are crucial for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the power infrastructure.

The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the interruption and appealed for understanding from its numerous customers. It assured the residents of Aba and its surrounding areas that once the repairs are concluded, electricity will be promptly restored to the Aba Ring-fenced Area.

The statement reads in full; “The management of Aba Power Ltd would like to inform our numerous customers that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will carry out critical repairs in its facilities on Thursday, February 15, 2024,"

"As a result of these repairs, there will be no power supply to Aba and its environs throughout the day.

“Once the repairs are concluded, electricity will be restored to the Aba Ring-fenced Area.

 “We regret every inconvenience that will arise from the electricity shutdown and seek your understanding," it noted.
