Tragedy struck when Bright Okon, a skilled electrician, met his untimely demise at the a hospital in Umuahia, Abia State.

The unfortunate incident unfolded on Thursday around 12:30 p.m., while the 24-year-old was diligently carrying out maintenance work at the renowned Evergreen Hotel in Umuahia.

According to an eyewitness account, Okon was diligently perched atop a ladder when a sudden electrical shock coursed through his body, causing him to lose balance and plummet to the ground below. The impact of the fall resulted in a severe head injury.

Prompt action was taken to rush Okon to the hospital, hoping to salvage his life. However, the medical professionals at the center sadly pronounced him deceased. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, officers from the Abia State Police Command swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the horrifying incident.

This devastating loss serves as a somber reminder of the risks faced by these dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure our electrical systems function properly.
