In a society plagued by lies, deceit, and propaganda, the truth has a way of surfacing and exposing the fragility of such falsehoods.

It is worth remembering how certain individuals, vehemently defended the claim of 24/7 power supply in Aba. Those who dared to question this narrative were immediately labeled as opponents of progress and targeted by their supporters. The media coverage surrounding the re-asphalting of only 9 roads in 9 months, accompanied by strategically placed street lights, further added to the illusion that significant progress was being made.

Social media platforms were flooded with sponsored skits and posts from Lagos-based influencers, celebrating the non-existent 24/7 electricity in Aba. This left the residents of Aba perplexed and disillusioned, as they experienced the reality of the situation firsthand.

However, the recent statement from the Public Relations Officer of GEOMETRIC POWER has contradicted these previous claims. The company clarified that they never promised 24-hour electricity but rather aimed to improve the electricity supply in Aba. Furthermore, they revealed that only one out of the three turbines is currently operational, with plans to have the second turbine functional by April. Despite these efforts, the company cannot guarantee uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply.

This revelation serves as a stark reminder of the inherent shortcomings of relying on propaganda and lies. While they may create temporary illusions, they are ultimately unsustainable when confronted with the truth and the passage of time. It highlights the importance of transparency, honesty, and realistic expectations in building trust and achieving genuine progress.
