Abia PDP Leaders, others Pay Emotional Tribute at Funeral of Late Mr Umunna Sunday Ezem, Brother of Former SSG Chris Ezem(Photos) | #NwokeukwuMascot

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political leaders today came together today to pay their final respects to the late Mr Umunna Sunday Ezem at his funeral in MATTHEW EZEM OF UMUZO, AMIBO UBAKALA in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State. The funeral was attended by the state party chairman, Rt Hon Alwell Asiforo, Chief Okey Ahiwe, and other prominent leaders of the party.


The deceased, who passed away on the 24th day of March 2024, was the brother of Barrister Chris Ezem, the immediate past Secretary to the State Government of Abia. In his closing remarks, Barr Chris Ezem expressed shock at the sudden loss of his brother and emphasized the importance of cherishing life as a privilege, not a right. He thanked the Anglican Church, leaders of the PDP, the community, friends, and family for their support during this difficult time, assuring them that the welfare of his late brother family would be well taken care of.


Among the dignitaries present at the burial service were Abia Central Senator, Col Austin Akobundu, the representative of Umuahia North/Ikwuano Federal Constituency, Hon Obi Aguocha, The incumbent Chief Judge is Justice Lilian Agbai, Member representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Clerk of the Abia House of Assembly John Pedro, Chief Tony Ukasoanya, Chibuike Onyedilefu, Pastor Emeka Enyeama, and many others.

The presence of these prominent figures at the funeral is a testament to the impact that Mr Umunna Sunday Ezem had on his community and the respect he commanded from his peers.
