In preparation for the zonal caucus meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, and Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the National Welfare Secretary of the party, warmly received several influential members of the PDP who have defected to the APC.

The announcement of their defection was made during a stakeholders meeting convened by the minister in her country home, Isuochi, Abia State.

Among the notable figures who joined the APC are Professor A. C. B Agbazuere, the former chief of staff to former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Barrister Eze Chikamnayo, the former Commissioner for Information, Chief Eze Nwanganga, the former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Chief Sam Nwogu, the immediate past Chairman of ASOPADEC, and several other key PDP members from across the state.

During the meeting, Minister Onyejeocha expressed her gratitude to the new members for choosing to join the APC at this opportune time. She acknowledged their political credentials and assured them that their presence would contribute to the party's success in future elections.

The Minister emphasized her commitment to serving Nigeria, Abia State, and the APC, and promised to relay the message of the new members to President Tinubu. She also reiterated her dedication to peace and her goal of showcasing the best of Abia to the entire nation.

Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the National Welfare Secretary of the APC, dismissed claims of division within the Abia State chapter of the party and urged both old and new members to focus on grassroots mobilization for future elections. He expressed his confidence in Minister Onyejeocha's leadership and called for unity and cooperation among party members.

The gathering also featured speeches from other prominent APC members, including Chief Emeka Atuma and Hon. Dan Okeke, who expressed their support for the Minister's leadership and the party's vision.

Prof. A. C. B Agbazuere, who led a group of former PDP stakeholders in joining the APC, described the event as divinely mandated and praised the Minister's leadership for attracting such a significant number of personalities.

Barrister Eze Chikamnayo, the immediate past Abia State Commissioner for Information, pledged his loyalty to the APC and Minister Onyejeocha, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the ruling party and effecting positive change.
