Isialangwa South, Abia - The leadership and stakeholders of Ovungwu Ward 8 in Isialangwa South Local Government Area (LGA) have announced the suspension of several prominent members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) due to alleged anti-party activities. Among those suspended are the former Executive Chairman of Isialangwa South LGA, Onwa Isikaku, and Ward Chairman Chief Chinatu Nwosu, along with five other individuals.


The decision was disclosed in an official statement signed by six key stakeholders and leaders of Ovungwu Ward 8, expressing a unanimous vote of no confidence in the suspended members. The statement cited anti-party activities and negligence of duties, which they stated are violations of the PDP constitution.


The statement reads: “We, the leaders and stakeholders of Ovungwu Ward 8 in Isialangwa South, today, Monday, May 27, 2024, unanimously pass a vote of no confidence on the following leaders and executives of Ovungwu Ward 8, Isialangwa South Local Government, for anti-party activities and negligence of duties, which is a violation of the PDP constitution. They should henceforth desist from parading themselves as leaders and executives of Ovungwu Ward 8 and stop calling illegal meetings as they are no longer part of PDP members in the ward.”
