Umunneochi LGA, Abia State – Chief Ebere Nwankwo, the 2023 candidate for the Umunneochi State Constituency under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has formally resigned from the party. 


In a letter addressed to the APGA Ward Chairman of Lokpaukwu Ward, Umunneochi Local Government Area, Chief Nwankwo confirmed his resignation. The letter, titled “Letter of Resignation from the Party,” expresses his gratitude for the support and opportunities he experienced during his tenure with APGA.


"Sir, I wish to express my appreciation for the goodwill I have received as well as the opportunities I have enjoyed during this period of my stay and flag-bearing in All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).


“I have worked for and with the party, and it's time for me to move on. I truly enjoyed every bit of the political relationship, partnership, and socialization during this short stay. I'm extremely grateful for the encouragement and support you have given me as I pursued my political aspiration and social growth objectives," Nwankwo wrote.


He extended his thanks to the leaders of APGA for their support during his candidacy in the last election. "To the leaders of APGA, I say 'thank you' for your role in my pursuit during the last election. At this point, I would like to inform you that I am resigning from APGA effective from the date of this letter."


Chief Nwankwo concluded his letter with warm regards and best wishes for his former colleagues, hoping for their success in future political endeavors.

This resignation is a significant event in the political landscape of Umunneochi LGA, potentially influencing the dynamics of upcoming elections. Chief Nwankwo's departure from APGA could have considerable implications for the party's local structure and strategy moving forward.
