Manchester City are back to top of the Premier League table and now in the pole position for a fourth consecutive title after Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Fulham 4-0 at the Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The win puts Man City two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal (83 points), who could retake the lead if they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday while City would still have a game in hand.

Josko Gvardiola scored an unlikely brace in the game after giving Man City the lead in the 13th minute, putting a nice finish to a pass from Kevin De Bruyne. He scored his second in the 71st minute by lunging in to prod a cross by Bernardo Silva.

Prior to that, Phil Foden had doubled Manchester City’s lead in the 59th minute when the midfielder capitalised on a loose ball from Silva’s play outside the box before firing it into the bottom-left corner for his 17th league goal of the season.

Man City were awarded a penalty in the last minutes of the game following a foul on Julian Alvarez, which Alvarez scored to seal the victory for Man City.

Speaking about Gvardiola after the game, Guardiola said, “The first goal… we signed the best winger in the planet!. After Wolves, 3 days off, he was the only one who went to the training centre for his recovery,” he said.

“We make an incredible signing for many, many years to come,” Guardiola added.
