In a recent statement, Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a prominent Nigerian political figure, in a controversial interview on Arise News expressed his approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's adherence to his campaign promises.


Throughout his campaign, Tinubu had repeatedly assured the Nigerian public that he would build upon the foundation laid by his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.


Obi acknowledged this commitment, stating, "President Tinubu has kept to his campaign promises. He consistently maintained that he would continue from where Buhari stopped, and he has come very well."


Obi gave President Tinubu an "excellent pass mark" for his efforts so far, citing significant changes in key economic indicators.

He noted that during Buhari's administration, the exchange rate of the Naira to the US Dollar stood at N460. Under Tinubu's leadership, this rate has surged to N1500. Additionally, Obi pointed out the dramatic rise in fuel prices, which increased from N238 per liter to approximately N700 per liter.
