Lagos, Nigeria – In response to the recent fire incident at Christ Embassy Church's headquarters in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated (commonly known as Christ Embassy), has reassured his congregation and the public that the church will emerge stronger and more glorious from this setback.

During a live Sunday service at the church's campground in Asese, which was monitored by newsmen, Pastor Oyakhilome addressed the congregation, emphasizing that the fire was not merely an accident but a catalyst for greater things.

"Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident," Pastor Oyakhilome stated. Reflecting on past challenges, he recalled the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident.

"The building vibrated so much, and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse, and we called the engineers to assess it, but it was still okay."

Drawing a parallel to the current situation, he continued, "Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wounds."

Videos of the fire at the church building surfaced on social media early Sunday morning, drawing widespread attention and concern. Officials from the Lagos State Fire Service responded promptly to the scene and were working to contain the fire at the time of this report. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.

As investigations into the cause of the fire continue, the church community remains hopeful and united in their resolve to rebuild. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
