As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prepares to elect new leadership across Nigeria, Chief Okechi Utah, a prominent party chieftain and former Deputy Local Government Chairman, has called for the establishment of a people-oriented leadership to rejuvenate the party in Abia State.


In an interview with journalists in Umuahia, Chief Utah emphasized the need for a chairman who combines intelligence, resourcefulness, vibrancy, vision, and unwavering passion to lead the PDP to success.


"I commend the stakeholders and leadership of the party for zoning the chairmanship to Abia North. I have closely examined the credentials of the aspirants from that zone, and I am impressed with their qualifications and personal achievements.


They are all highly capable, but the party needs energetic, creative, courageous, and goal-focused leadership. We require a leader with the necessary experience to steer the party through the challenges of opposition," Chief Utah stated.


He stressed that the PDP must elect a transformative and visionary leader who can be trusted with the party's affairs.




"The party members are eager and ready to support and work with the new leadership. The PDP remains the strongest and most grassroots-oriented party in Nigeria, and I believe it has a bright political future, but only if we choose the right leaders," he added.


Chief Utah also extended his best wishes to PDP members, Abians, and Nigerians, wishing them a happy Democracy Day.
