Abia State, June 12, 2024 – Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr., Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service in the Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), has extended his heartfelt greetings to his constituents and all Nigerians in celebration of Democracy Day.


In a press release signed by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, and made available to news outlets today, Erondu Jnr. congratulated Nigerians for their enduring commitment to democracy, especially in the context of June 12. He emphasized that this date symbolizes the collective struggle and resilience of the Nigerian people to establish and uphold democratic governance.


Erondu Jnr., who previously served as Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) in Abia State, highlighted that the 25 years of uninterrupted civilian rule reflect the people’s steadfast determination to maintain democracy. He paid special tribute to the heroes of democracy, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions.


Addressing current economic challenges, Erondu Jnr. expressed concern over the hardships caused by the recent removal of fuel subsidies and the increase in electricity tariffs. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to pray for improvements in the country's economic situation.


The legislator, who represents the Obingwa-West State constituency, assured his constituents that he, along with other lawmakers, remains dedicated to their legislative responsibilities.
