In a significant diplomatic gesture, U.S. President Joe Biden issued a formal apology to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the extended delay in the approval of a substantial military aid package. This announcement came during a high-profile meeting between the two leaders in Paris.


The aid package, amounting to $61 billion, had faced a protracted hold-up in Congress before finally being passed in late April. Biden attributed the delay to opposition from some conservative members of Congress.


"I’m not gonna walk away from you," Biden assured Zelensky in a brief exchange before reporters, underscoring his commitment to supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.

This development marks a critical moment in U.S.-Ukraine relations, as the Biden administration continues to navigate the complexities of international support for Ukraine amidst geopolitical tensions.
