Opinion   Otti's Govt of Deception: Mismanagement of Pension and RAAMP Projects in Abia by Ikechukwu Iroha | #NwokeukwuMascot File Image Governor Alex Otti's deliberate manipulation of Abians is working to his advantage, and to be fair, he can't be blamed for taking advantage of widespread ignorance. He understands the psyche of Abians, which is why he can boldly present a financial statement claiming ₦58 billion was spent on renovating public schools in 2023—despite the glaring absence of any government presence in these schools. When financially literate individuals raise concerns about such outrageous figures, his aides—many of whom are clueless—resort to insults instead of providing clarifications. World Bank-Funded RAAMP Projects Disguised as State Initiatives: Otti’s administration has failed to be transparent about major road projects, such as: Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Ohafia Road Ohafia-Arochukwu Road Okporoeyi-Ikwuano Road Abam-Arochukwu Road Isiukwuato Roads These proj...

Chris Nkwonta, describing him as an ingrate who lacks contentment. The Abia PDP boss made this remark during his recent visit to PDP stakeholders in Akwete-Ndoki, Ukwa-East, and Ogwe, Ukwa-West. He stated that the federal lawmaker had been a serial failure until he joined the PDP in 2023, when he finally won convincingly. He recalled that Rep. Nkwonta had previously contested for the House of Representatives seat— which he now occupies— against former Senate President H.E. Adolphus Wabara in 1992 but failed. He also contested for the positions of Abia State Governor and Abia South Senatorial seat, suffering repeated defeats. Elder Amah noted that despite Nkwonta’s wealth, he had never won any election in the past but secured victory in 2023 under th...
