Lagos Nigeria — August 3, 2024 — The 60th birthday of Engr. Obidike Nelkon Uzu, the esteemed MD/CEO of Global Process & Pipeline Services (GPPS), was a grand affair marked by heartfelt tributes and celebrations. The event, held at the luxurious Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, brought together a diverse array of guests, including family, business associates, friends, and well-wishers, all eager to honor the distinguished engineer, community leader, and renowned author.




As guests arrived, the atmosphere was charged with a palpable sense of admiration and respect for Uzu, whose remarkable career and contributions have made a significant impact in various fields. Dignitaries from the oil and gas industry, civil service, judiciary, and prominent organizations such as the Ngwa Patriots Forum, University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, and Harvard University Alumni Association were in attendance, highlighting the broad reach of Uzu’s influence.




Born on July 29, 1964, in Ndiolumbe Nvosi Autonomous Community, Isialangwa South, Abia State, Engr. Uzu has garnered recognition not only for his professional achievements but also for his extensive community service. His notable career includes pivotal roles at Shell, BJ Services, and GPPS.




He is also a respected figure in the Nigerian Institute of Petroleum Engineering and the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, holding degrees from Harvard University and the University of Cambridge.

In addition to his professional accolades, Uzu is celebrated for his literary contributions, including the acclaimed book "From Aba to Forbes: A Journey of Grit and Glory." This work, which details his personal journey and the Biafran war, features a foreword by Professor Chijioke Uwasomba from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
