Political stakeholders in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State, have commended the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, describing him as a passionate and purposeful leader.

The Chairman of Osisioma-Ngwa political stakeholders, Elder Sam Njoku, disclosed this yesterday in Aba, Abia State, during a visit by the Abia lawmaker. He highlighted that Erondu Jnr’s strides in human capital development resonate across Ngwa land, Abia State, and Nigeria at large.

The elder statesman further supported a motion moved by the former Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Godswill Uche Nwanoruo, to adopt Erondu Jnr as their representative, citing his commitment to the socio-economic development of his constituents.

Contributing, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osisioma-Ngwa LGA, Barr. Emeka Onyenso, thanked Erondu Jnr for making the Ngwa nation proud through various empowerment programmes in Abia State and beyond. Barr. Onyenso called on politicians at all levels to emulate the Uhie-born legislator’s leadership style of uplifting their people, assuring that PDP in Osisioma-Ngwa would always support him.

In his speech, a former Commissioner for Transport in Abia State, Barr. Ekele Nwaohamuo, emphasized that party loyalty is a collective responsibility and described political defectors from PDP as ungrateful individuals with no electoral value.

Meanwhile, a political stalwart in Osisioma-Ngwa, Elder Emeka Ahuruonye, noted that PDP in Osisioma-Ngwa remains intact and stronger. He commended Erondu Jnr for his unwavering commitment to the party.

In their separate remarks, the Woman Leader and Youth Leader of Osisioma-Ngwa LGA, Mrs. Joy John and Mr. Frank Nwogu, respectively, expressed pride in the PDP. They dismissed concerns about a few defectors, stating that the party is poised to regain power in Osisioma and Abia State.

They said: “PDP remains the beautiful bride. We are also happy that the bad eggs have left our party. We are now better and stronger than before.”

Earlier, the immediate past Commissioner for Post-Basic Education in Abia State, Elder I.C. Mark, thanked Erondu Jnr for visiting them, adding that his presence has further encouraged the party to perform better.

Hon. Godswill Uche Nwanoruo had earlier moved a motion to adopt Erondu Jnr as their representative, noting that PDP currently has no representative from Osisioma-Ngwa in the Abia State House of Assembly. The motion was overwhelmingly supported by Elder Sam Njoku, Elder I.C. Mark, and other stakeholders.

They lamented that individuals empowered by the immediate past Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, and the PDP-led government failed to make meaningful impacts on their communities.

Meanwhile, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, urged political stakeholders in Osisioma-Ngwa LGA to remain loyal to the PDP, describing it as the only party with the people’s interest at heart.

The former Chairman of Obingwa LGA encouraged stakeholders and aggrieved party members who felt sidelined during the last party congress to sheath their swords and support the party. He expressed optimism that the PDP, having regained power in the past, would reclaim the state in 2027.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Igodo Igwe Campaign Council, Hon. Chidiebere Ihenyirimadu, thanked Osisioma-Ngwa stakeholders for their warm reception and unwavering support for the PDP, assuring them they would not regret their loyalty.

In his vote of thanks, Chief Sorochi Mark appreciated the people of Osisioma-Ngwa for their steadfast support for the party, emphasizing the unbreakable bond between Obingwa and Osisioma-Ngwa.

Other dignitaries at the event included former TC Chairman of Osisioma-Ngwa LGA, Hon. Joe Ohaja; former PDP Secretary of Osisioma-Ngwa, Hon. Ihezuo Ofumba; Hon. Kanu Stanley Ndubuisi; Hon. Innocent Anucha; and Hon. Abraham Nwaohamuo, among others.
