Registration for the second batch of Senator Austin Akobundu’s Digital Skills Acquisition Programme for youths in Abia Central Senatorial District commenced today, Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The NOSTROCOM House in Umuahia was bustling with activity as young people from across the senatorial district converged on the venue to secure their spots in the highly sought-after training programme.
The initiative, which aims to equip 1,000 youths with in-demand digital skills, successfully completed its first batch on December 28, 2024. A total of 186 participants—three from each of the 62 wards in the district—graduated after undergoing intensive training in modern, commercially viable ICT fields.
Building on this success, the second batch is set to begin full training on Monday, February 3, 2025. Participants will receive hands-on instruction in Web Design, Forex Trading, Software Development, Graphic Design, Data Science, and Digital Marketing.
Senator Austin Akobundu’s Digital Skills Acquisition Programme is one of his numerous initiatives focused on human capacity development, with a particular emphasis on youth empowerment. The programme is designed to transform young people from job seekers into job creators, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital economy.
