Even a blind man can see the transformation happening in Abia. I am saying it again—maybe now that they have suspended me, they will proceed to expel me. But regardless, sir [Governor Otti], continue with your go...

Opinion   File Image In governance, consistency is a mark of credibility. It assures citizens that policies and pronouncements are not mere rhetoric but commitments backed by concrete action. However, in Abia State, Governor Alex Otti’s administration appears entangled in a web of contradictions, raising questions about its ability to uphold transparency and accountability. From the contentious implementation of the minimum wage to labor disputes with civil servants and pensioners, a recurring pattern of discrepancies has left many wondering whether these inconsistencies are mere administrative lapses or a reflection of deeper governance issues. In October 2024, the Abia State Government announced the implementation of the new minimum wage, claiming to have begun full payments. This was celebrated by the Government as a milestone achievement, even as civil servants and the Abia State Labour Union raised concerns about the structure of the payments. The workers insisted that...
