HAPPENING NOW: Mechanic Village in Uyo boils as Igbo Community clashes with indigenous workers.




A popular settlement along Abak road in Uyo, popularly known and referred to as Mechanic Village is currently having a serious physical combat between the indigen of Akwa Ibom and the Igbo community trader who predominantly dominate the market commercially.







The fight which has left many injured began at the early hours of today. 

Currently, no life is lost as the men of the Nigeria Police Force are fully on ground to maintain peace.

The actual cause of the clash is yet to be identified.

At the time of this report, the fight seems to have overpowered the men of the Nigeria Police. 

Information from one of the officers who pleaded anonymous assured of a joint task force backup from the men of the Nigerian Army.

   News     File Image  Following numerous allegations against Mrs. Nwankego Onyeukwu, the Acting Director of Nursing Services at the Ministry of Health, Abia State, regarding her alleged extortion of prospective and current nursing students. The complain of Concerned parent Forum (for School of Nursing and Midwifery in Abia) which was directed to Gov. Alex Otti and copied to security agencies across the state, prompted the investigation which was stalled by Mrs. Nwankego's non-appearance leading to her arrest and detention.
