Senator Abaribe Emerges Social Justice Senator of the Year.

The immediate past Senate minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has emerged the Social Justice ‘Senator of the year.

The Award according to the organisers; The Public Complaints Commission, during this year's Social Justice Conference and Awards; to identify and celebrate Social Justice Crusaders and Advocates.

"To this end, the commission to maintain transparency  and reward the deserving put it through an online voting. 

“The second and final stage of voting was concluded on October 24th 2022 and Senator Abaribe emerged as the SOCIAL JUSTICE SENATOR OF THE YEAR.

"Amongst the reasons the people gave for voting him is that over the years, he has been a consistent voice of the voiceless".

The Conference brought in all stakeholders from Public, Private and Civil Society to deliberate on topical issues ranging from security to justice, housing, education etc.

The keynote speakers were Prof Chidi Odinkalu and Prof. Benjamin Zyla amongst other panelists.

The Theme of the conference was: Social Justice, The Bedrock for National Development.

The Award ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the National Judicial Institute, Abuja on Thursday October 27th, 2022.

Nonetheless, the ceremony held on the day Senator Abaribe was also delivering the second annual lecture of the Paul's University, Awka, Anambra State on the topic: Nigeria at Crossroads.

The complain of Concerned parent Forum (for School of Nursing and Midwifery in Abia) which was directed to Gov. Alex Otti and copied to security agencies across the state, prompted the investigation which was stalled by Mrs. Nwankego's non-appearance leading to her arrest and detention.
