Otti Suspends Onyii Wamah, Permanent Secretaries, Appoints Acting Head of Service | #NwokeukwuMascot

Abia state government have suspended Onyii Wamah, Abia state head of service and all permanent secretaries of the state except John Pedro, the clerks of the state house of assembly.

The Dr Alex Otti’s led state Government made this development public through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kazie Uko, also announced the appointment of Lady Joy Maduka, the director of ministry of Education as the acting head of service.

The release captioned: “ABIA SUSPENDS PERMANENT SECRETARIES, HEAD OF SERVICE, APPOINTS ACTING HOS” reads in full: “Following the inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Properties and Funds belonging to Abia State Government, the Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has directed the immediate suspension of the Head of Service (HOS) and all Permanent Secretaries in the State civil service.

“Consequently, the Governor has approved the appointment of Lady Joy Maduka, Director, Ministry of Education, as Acting Head of Service (HOS).

“All the Permanent Secretaries, except the following:

1. John Pedro Iroakazi - Clerk of the House;  

2. Mrs. U. G. Uche Ikonne - Solicitor General

“Are by this notice directed to hand over to the most senior Director in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies. This directive takes immediate effect.” Mr Kazie Ended.

The complain of Concerned parent Forum (for School of Nursing and Midwifery in Abia) which was directed to Gov. Alex Otti and copied to security agencies across the state, prompted the investigation which was stalled by Mrs. Nwankego's non-appearance leading to her arrest and detention.
