…Nigeria’s Minister for Labour & Employment Resigns to Assume Elected Role as Senator Plateau South | #NwokeukwuMascot

Nigeria's Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, has officially resigned from his position. Lalong submitted his resignation letter to President Tinubu after today's Federal Executive Council meeting, and is now awaiting approval from the President in order to assume his elected position as Senator for Plateau South Senatorial District.

This resignation comes after the Appeal Court in Lagos confirmed Lalong's election victory as Senator for Plateau South last month. Lalong had been serving as the Minister for Labour and Employment since 2019, but will now be stepping down to take on his new role as Senator.

This decision is seen as a major change in the political landscape of Nigeria, as Lalong holds a significant position in the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC). It is yet to be announced who will take over the position of Minister for Labour and Employment.
