Abia State, December 25, 2023 - Chief Okey Ahiwe, the Abia State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, has expressed joy and extended his heartfelt wishes to Abians, especially Christians, as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a Christmas message released by his Media Adviser, Mr. Victor C. Nwokocha (ANIPR), Chief Ahiwe emphasized the significance of using the Christmas season for prayers, meditations, and introspection rather than indulging in extravagant and excessive celebrations.

Chief Ahiwe stated, “The true essence of celebrating Christ lies in emulating Him and incorporating His teachings into our daily lives. The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ epitomizes love, peace, humility, selflessness, and humanism.

“It would be hypocritical to engage in lavish Christmas festivities without ensuring that our actions and behaviors reflect the core values embedded in the work and teachings of Jesus Christ.

“It is crucial that we teach our younger generation that Christmas is not solely about materialistic displays or exuberance, but about living by the principles exemplified by Christ.”

He further emphasized that emulating Christ and adhering to His teachings is not just a seasonal obligation but a lifelong commitment that should guide individuals in their interactions and decisions.

Chief Ahiwe concluded his message by offering prayers for the peace and love of Christ to continue to resonate among Abians and their loved ones not only during the Christmas season but also throughout the year.
