Umuahia, Abia state - In a recent press statement, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State expressed its deep sadness and condemnation over the tragic killing of Mr. Emmanuel Okocha, an innocent businessman from Abiriba, who was fatally shot by a police officer, Corporal Obagi Njoku in Aba. The incident took place along Aba Owerri Road, leaving the community shocked and devastated.


The PDP in the press release signed Elder Abraham Amah, who doubles as the states party Vice Chairman and Acting Publicity Secretary extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire Abiriba community in Ohafia Local Government Area as they mourn the loss of Mr. Okocha. “The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State is deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless killing of Mr. Emmanuel Okocha, an innocent Abiriba-born Aba based businessman, at the hands of a police officer, Corporal Obagi Njoku in Aba. The incident which occurred along Aba Owerri Road in Aba is shocking, highly unfortunate and we condemn this act of violence in the strongest terms.


“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire Abiriba community in Ohafia Local Government Area as they mourn the loss of Mr. Okocha. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time of grief and sorrow.


“We commend the Abia State Police Command for their swift response in apprehending the officer responsible, Corporal Obagi Njoku, and for initiating disciplinary actions against him. We also note the command's stated commitment to upholding professionalism and the rule of law, as demonstrated in their handling of this unfortunate incident.
