Nigeria Police Officer Arrested for Fatal Shooting of Businessman as Abia State Police Command Vows Justice | #NwokeukwuMascot

 An officer of the Nigeria Police Force has been arrested for the tragic killing of a businessman in Abia State. The victim, Mr Emmanuel Okocha, was fatally shot along Aba-Owerri Road. The suspect, identified as Police Corporal Obagi Njok, was attached to Abayi Police Division under the Abia State Police Command.

The officer responsible for the shooting, identified as Police Corporal Obagi Njok, is not a member of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) as earlier reported, but rather an officer attached to the World Bank Police Station in Aba. He has been arrested and is currently being detained in Umuahia, Abia State. The incident has left Mr Okocha's sons fatherless and his young wife as a widow.

The Abia State Police Command has issued a statement regarding the incident, expressing deep regret. They have assured the public that the officer has been apprehended and that necessary disciplinary procedures have been initiated. The Command is committed to ensuring that appropriate disciplinary actions and sanctions are imposed swiftly. The suspect will face the full consequences of both administrative and legal measures. The Command has also promised to keep the bereaved family and stakeholders informed as the proceedings progress.

They have emphasized their dedication to upholding professionalism and the rule of law. The Command unequivocally condemns any form of misconduct, unprofessionalism, and indiscipline among their officers.
