Ikpeazu Faithfuls Honour Aba Keke Rider Who Returned ₦4 Million to Cameroonian Woman | #NwokeukwuMascot

In a heartwarming display of recognition and reward for honesty, members of the Ikpeazu Faithfuls group have honoured and gifted ₦2.1 million to Mr. Lucky Ihuoma Okoro, a native of Umuomei community in Obingwa LGA popularly known as Onye Photo, a tricycle (keke) rider in Aba, who went viral for returning ₦4 million mistakenly left in his vehicle by a Cameroonian woman.

The Cameroonian trader, who had boarded Mr. Okoro’s keke en route to the bustling Ariaria International Market, forgot a bag containing ₦4 million and other valuables. Demonstrating rare integrity, Mr. Okoro went to great lengths to trace and return the entire sum to its rightful owner, earning him widespread praise both online and offline.

Moved by his remarkable honesty and selflessness, Ikpeazu Faithfuls a socio-political group loyal to former Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu welcomed Mr. Okoro with open arms and presented him with a ₦2.1 million cash reward, matching the amount he had returned. The gesture, they said, was to appreciate and encourage uprightness in a society increasingly challenged by moral decay.

Speaking during the reception held in Aba, Chief Rowland Nwakamma, Chairman of the Obingwa Stakeholders Forum and host of the event, lauded Mr. Okoro for his upright conduct, which he said reflects the true spirit of onye Igbo and the dignity of labour.

“In a society where trust is fast eroding, Mr. Lucky has shown that there are still good men among us. His honesty is not just admirable it is exemplary. He deserves to be celebrated and supported,” Nwakamma stated.

Also present at the event were Hon. George Ubani, former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area; Hon. Chiemela Moses; and Hon. Prince Ukpom, in their separate remarks called on governments at all levels, non-governmental organisations, and kind-hearted Nigerians to identify and support individuals like Mr. Okoro who continue to uphold values that uplift society.

Visibly emotional and filled with gratitude, Mr. Okoro thanked the Ikpeazu Faithfuls for the honour and their generous gift. “I returned the money because I knew it was the right thing to do. I never expected this kind of reward, but I’m truly grateful. May God bless everyone who made this possible,” he said.

This comes just a few months after Immigration Officer Prince Ugochukwu Orji rejected a ₦10 million bribe from a fleeing ritualist in Enugu. Interestingly, both Mr. Orji and Mr. Okoro hail from the Ngwa clan, a lineage known for producing individuals who embody integrity and moral uprightness. The Ngwa people remain the most populous sub-Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria.

Mr. Okoro’s story has since gone viral on social media, inspiring similar acts of honesty and sparking conversations about the importance of rewarding integrity in contemporary society.
