Trouble for Abaribe as APGA Kicks Him Out Over ADC Romance, Anti-Party Conduct | #NwokeukwuMascot

Umuahia, Abia State
— The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Abia State Chapter has announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly, over alleged anti-party activities.

The suspension, which took effect on Friday, September 26, 2025, was conveyed through a resolution of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of APGA in Abia. The party accused Abaribe of gross misconduct, disobedience to party directives, and actions that have allegedly brought APGA into disrepute.

In a letter signed by the State Secretary, Pastor Peter Nduka, APGA said Senator Abaribe’s suspension followed resolutions reached during its SEC meeting in Umuahia. According to the party, the Senator had been found guilty of actions deemed detrimental to APGA’s growth and survival.

“You have been suspended indefinitely from APGA with immediate effect for anti-party activities, an action which has exposed the party to public ridicule,” the letter stated.

The party explained that it had earlier issued a 24-hour notice directing Senator Abaribe to respond to allegations of anti-party conduct, but having reviewed the situation, it found grounds to proceed with disciplinary action in line with Articles 21(1)(K) and 22(1)(B) of the APGA Constitution, as amended.

The SEC outlined several infractions allegedly committed by the Senator, including:

1.) Gross anti-party activities: Associating with another political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while still holding APGA’s mandate in the Senate.

2.) Promotion of ADC: Convening an ADC meeting on August 22, 2025, and openly advancing the party’s interests at the expense of APGA.

3.) Bringing APGA to ridicule: Engaging in conducts that tarnished the image of the party before the public.

4.) Defiance of directives: Disobeying official party instructions issued on September 24, 2025.

5.) Undemocratic tendencies: Accusations of high-handedness and behaviors considered inimical to the unity and development of APGA in Abia State.

The party also mandated its State Secretary to officially notify Senator Abaribe of the suspension in writing and circulate the development to security agencies, relevant institutions, and the general public.

APGA stated that Senator Abaribe’s suspension remains indefinite, pending the conclusion of hearings and determination of his case by a disciplinary committee to be constituted by the party.

“The party has equally notified all relevant institutions, including security agencies and the general public, to take note of this development and desist from having any dealings with the suspended individual in his capacity as an APGA member in Abia State,” the statement added.

The decision was endorsed by members of the State Executive Committee, comprising the State Working Committee and Local Government Party Chairmen, whose signatures were appended to the resolution.
