The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended warm felicitations to the immediate past Governor of the state, His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, on the occasion of his 61st birthday, describing him as “a leader of uncommon composure and exemplary character.”




In a heartfelt message signed by the State Chairman of the PDP, Elder Abraham Amah, the party lauded Dr. Ikpeazu for his enduring contributions to the development of Abia State and the growth of the PDP, noting that his leadership remains a model of grace, humility, and emotional strength.




“Your Excellency, today we celebrate a man who has proven that leadership is not merely a position but a responsibility anchored on wisdom, grace, and emotional strength,” the statement read. “You have remained a symbol of loyalty, a man of peace, a friend to many, and a leader who understands the true value of building people, not just structures.”




The statement further extolled the former governor’s composure and maturity in the face of political challenges, describing him as a leader who embodies calmness in victory, strength in adversity, and consistency in principle.




“Through your journey in public service, you demonstrated humility in power, maturity under pressure, and courage in decision-making. You have remained consistent in character calm in victory, composed in adversity, and unwavering in your belief that politics must serve humanity,” Elder Amah stated.




The Abia PDP also acknowledged Dr. Ikpeazu’s pivotal role in maintaining the unity and stability of the party, highlighting his mentorship of emerging political leaders and his commitment to strengthening democratic values across the state.



“Your contributions to the growth of our political family and your role in nurturing a generation of political disciples will forever remain part of your legacy,” the statement added.




Concluding the message, the PDP Chairman prayed for continued divine blessings upon the former governor, wishing him long life, good health, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.



“As you celebrate this new year, may the Almighty God grant you peace of mind, divine favour, and new heights of relevance and honour. Continue to shine, continue to lead, and continue to inspire,” Elder Amah said.




Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, who served as Governor of Abia State from 2015 to 2023, is widely respected for his calm disposition, people-oriented leadership style, and dedication to the ideals of the Peoples Democratic Party.
