Abia PDP Congratulates Former Governor Ikpeazu on Ambassadorial Nomination, Commends President Tinubu | #NwokeukwuMascot

The Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated former Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu on his nomination as a non-career ambassador by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the appointment as well-deserved recognition of his service to the state and the nation.



In a statement issued on Friday, Elder Amah Abraham, the State Chairman of Abia PDP, on behalf of the State Working Committee (SWC) and the party’s entire membership, lauded Ikpeazu’s years of dedicated leadership, visionary governance, and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Abia State.



“The nomination of Dr. Ikpeazu is a clear testament to his exemplary service, competence, and commitment to public good,” the statement read. “As a party, we are proud of his accomplishments and steadfast devotion to public service.”



The statement also extended gratitude to President Tinubu for selecting Ikpeazu for this national assignment. The PDP noted that such appointments highlight the importance of experience, competence, and inclusive governance in Nigeria’s leadership framework.



The party expressed confidence that Dr. Ikpeazu will leverage his wealth of knowledge, diplomatic exposure, humility, and bridge-building capacity to represent Nigeria effectively on the global stage.



Vice Chairman (South) and Acting State Publicity Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, who signed the statement, emphasized the party’s support for Ikpeazu as he prepares for his upcoming diplomatic role, wishing him success in serving the nation with distinction.



This development follows reports that Ikpeazu was among 32 ambassadorial nominees recently forwarded to the Senate by President Tinubu, alongside other high-profile national figures. The Senate will now consider and confirm the nominees, after which specific diplomatic postings will be announced.



The Abia PDP’s commendation reinforces Ikpeazu’s status as a respected political figure in the state and highlights the significance of his potential transition from state leadership to international diplomacy.
